Bollywood Walk of Fame: 'Names out next month'

walkoffame.jpgBy 74news
Mumbai, Nov. 25 -- Come next month, and a Bollywood channel will announce the final list of top actors whose hand impressions will be placed at the first Bollywood Walk Of Fame to be constructed at Bandstand, Bandra. Once the first set of names is picked, the promenade's beautification will begin early next year.
"It will be an on-going exercise. It won't have a finite ending like a TV show. Bollywood is known to be the second largest film industry in the world. Fortunes change every Friday. So, we will continue adding names to our list," says Nikhil Gandhi, business head, UTV Stars, stating that the channel will start off with 60 top celebrities of all time. "For now, we are looking at everyone who has made a difference to the industry from Pran saab and Dilip Kumar to Dev Anand, Vyjyanthimala, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. We're pretty confident that they will be happy to participate."
The idea comes from Sid Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in Los Angeles. The first iconic American location showcases hand impressions of Hollywood actors on the pavement, while the other has names of the celebrities written in cemented 'stars' on the sidewalk.
In Bollywood's Walk Of Fame, each star's hand impression will be taken on a tile and placed along the promenade in designated spots. "The residents' associations are with us on this plan. They are happy that the locality will become a hotter tourist spot. Plus it adds to the city's beautification too," beams Gandhi, adding, "But unlike various other tourist places, we won't have tickets for this. It's open to anyone who wants to take a walk there."

Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro’: The first movie to shoot inside Qutub Minar?

vivek oberoiThough ‘Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Local’ did not rake moolah at the box office, Abhay Deol’s performance in the same did get critical accolades. However, the makers have replaced Vivek Oberoi with Abhay in their next which is titled ‘Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro’. Unlike the original, this one will be shot in Delhi and guesses are on as to who will be the female lead in the flick. Rumours are rife that either Jacqueline or Bipasha will be cast for the role.
The makers are keen to reflect all the flavours of Delhi in the flick, so much so that they have decided to shoot one of the crucial scenes of the movie inside Qutub Minar. If everything falls in place, Amit Chandrra will have the credit of making the first ever film to ever capture the beautiful monument. Amit is in talks with higher authorities in Delhi as they plan to open gates to Qutub Minar.

Sonakshi Sinha goes red for FHM

There is no denying the fact that Sonakshi Sinha is perhaps the most beautiful and promising newcomer in our tinsel town. In her debut flick, she was seen in a village girl avatar wearing a saree. In all her forthcoming flicks like ‘Joker’, ‘Dabangg 2’ and ‘Lootera’ also she will be draping a saree. However, she puts on a glamorous western avatar in her photo shoot for the 4th anniversary of men’s fashion magazine FHM in Mumbai.
She opted for a red hot dress at the event for the unveiling of the issue. “I think it is good to look different in every photo shoot or a film. I think all my filmmakers are making me wear saris so I think it’s good that in photo shoots I am seen in western outfits. As an actor, this change is also important. I try and mix it up,” Sonakshi said at the unveiling of the FHM magazine cover.
“I am very proud of my ‘desiness’ and I would have to agree for now because those are the type of roles that I have been doing. Later on, there will be a lot of scope for change,” she added.

By 74news

Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious project Heroine is back on track with Kareena Kapoor stepping into the shoes of actress Aishwarya Rai as the lead actor and the filmmaker says the movie will be a landmark movie in Bebo's career.

"She (Kareena) is a great star. We have always talked about working together and even discussed a lot of films but nothing Kareenamaterialized. But Heroine is a great script and a great story. I am sure it will be a landmark cinema in Kareena's career," said Bhandarkar at the red carpet of Airtel Super Star Awards.

Bhandarkar's film hit a roadblock after Aishwarya opted out of the project following her pregnancy. Ash gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday.

The filmmaker hopes the film doesn't get into any other problem.

"Heroine is basically a journey in a heroine's life in the contemporary world. It's going to portray how an actress reaches the top and how her life goes through ups and downs. There are lot of catharsis and traumas shown in the film," said Bhandarkar, known for making films like Page 3, Fashion and Traffic Signal.

"Right now, the film is on track and shooting will start November end and we will finish by March-April. Hope you all like it," he added.

Big B spends happy time with granddaughter

Grandfather Amitabh Bachchan is having a nice time with his newly born grand-daughter as he wrote on the blog about how his life lit up with the new member of the family.

A wave of happiness is passing through the Bachchan family as after months of speculations, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday morning at Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai.

Hospital authorities informed that Ash had a normal delivery that took place around 10 am on Wednesday.

''The soft innocence of nature rests in my arms, oblivious of what else happens around her. Occasionally she opens her large and what looks now to be eyes of the lighter hue, which those that have dealt with similar, know shall change with time,'' Big B blogged.

''Often the gentlest of smiles quiver across her pouted upper lip, the shut eyes bringing expression through the brows and the settling down to that dream she must dream. Her head covered in the littlest of head gear she will ever adorn, snuggles into her mini quilt of varied colors dominated by the pink softness of its material,'' he described.

A nostalgic Big wrote about his feelings of touching his son Abhishek Bachchan in his blog: ''As I look down upon her I bring myself back to the visual when I had placed her Father in just condition into my Father's hands, to be heralded into our home. I stare at her in silence. She reciprocates in similar vein.''

''Dad! I hold the 9th Bachchan in my hands... this family that you started .. !!Amitabh, Ajitabh, Shweta, Nilima, Namrata, Abhishek, Naina, Bhim and now .. this beauty, unnamed so far ... I hope you and Ma look upon us from above and bless us and your latest addition. To carry forward what then may have seemed a somewhat limited expectation. The tradition continues and may it prosper by your love and your aashirvaad (blessings),'' he wrote.
